CiderFest at the Historic Houses In Fairmount Park

Within walking distance of Celebrate Coltrane 2019, you can spend a sparkling autumn afternoon at six historic houses in Fairmount Park sipping on cider samples from some of the best cideries around. Participating houses include Cedar Grove, Laurel Hill Mansion, Lemon Hill Mansion, Mount Pleasant, Historic Strawberry Mansion and Woodford. Limited free parking available at each historic house.
This event is rain or shine and for adults ages 21 and older. ID required.

From 12:00 noon until 4:00pm, Smith Memorial Playground & Playhouse will provide FREE instrument making, musical instruments and a children’s Jazz book library. Smith Memorial Playground is a free young children's playground near North 33rd Street and Oxford Street in Philadelphia, Pennsylvania, within the borders of Fairmount Park. The mission of Smith Memorial Playground is to provide and promote opportunities for unstructured free play for children.

About The Bird Song Walks:
The Discovery Center

At 2pm and 4pm, ornithologist, Jose Santiago and guest flutist, Tim Price take guests on a musical, bird watching tour around the Strawberry Mansion Reservoir. The Discovery Center allows visitors to connect to Audubon's national and international conservation initiatives, serving as a major migratory stopover on the Atlantic Flyway for over 100 species of birds and as a premier destination for bird watching throughout the region.
*Tim Price will play handcrafted, BAMBOO FLUTES provided by Twin Cities-based, AACM member, multi-disciplinary artist, composer and instrument-maker, Douglas Ewart. You can find out more about Ewart and his phenomenal flutes at his WEBSITE.
