Welcome to Philadelphia Jazz Project
Occupy Our Minds
Mar 19, 2020
In lieu of our current, of our current, global health crisis, PJP's April 2020 - Jazz Appreciation Month activities are cancelled. There is a possibility that the May events will also be cancelled.
That said, it is very important that we keep our minds occupied with affirming and engaging activities. Besides checking in on your loved ones, friends, neighbors and co-workers, by phone and/or email, we suggest that with some of this time on your hands, that you check out our FREE mixtapes. In our archive, we have over 60 brilliant mixtapes featuring some of Philadelphia's finest musicians. The archive is a wonderful time capsule of the Philly music scene during the past 10 years.
These recordings feature performances by Odean Pope, Pablo Batista, Bobby Zankel, Alexa Gold, Alan Nelson, Suzzette Ortiz, Christian Noguera, Bethlehem, Keith DeStefano, Terry Lawson, Kevin Diehl, Luke Carlos O'Reilly, Parris Lové, Ernest Stuart, Raymond A. King, Ella Ganht, Alfie Pollitt, Dennis Guevera and many, many more.

PAT MARTINO CAMPAIGN
Legendary Philly Jazz guitarist, Pat Martino has not worked since late 2018 due to severe health issues and is struggling to keep financially afloat. He's exhausted his savings and reaches out to the Jazz community for help. To support this effort, from March 15th to March 30th, 2020, Philadelphia Jazz Project and Books & Stuff will donate 50% from the online sales of our recent book, Philadelphia Jazz Stories Illustrated: Volume One to the Pat Martino Fund.
JOHN MORRISON'S MEMORABILIA
Testifying how he believes ObamaCare saved his life, PJP collaborator, Hiphop journalist and musician, John Morrison shared his amazing story. Two years ago, he fell ill with what he thought was the flu. He was hospitalized with viral encephalitis: a deadly disease that can cause memory loss and even, brain damage. Trying to bring himself and his memory back, while still in a wheelchair, Morrison started to work on some music. He released a CD containing that music a week ago. It’s called Memorabilia.
