Streets Are Buzzing
Aug 4, 2015
The following is a commentary written by Philadelphia pianist, Kendrah E. Butler. She is a remarkable musician and has collaborated with PJP on a number of ocassions. In the message below, she shares her response to a recent concert that PJP and our partner, WRTI-FM produced.
Hello. My Philadelphia Jazz Project Family!
What can I say about last night's concert at Temple University's TPAC auditorium [ Friday, July 31st - Letieres Leite & Orkestra Rumpilezz featuring special guests Arturo O'Farrill and Steve Bernstein ] that will articulate the intense and sustaining musical high I am on right now? The streets are buzzing and I have given serious praise to God for creating such amazing music and the gift of music, but also to you guys who put in the work to make this amazing opportunity for true excellence in music possible for the audience that was there.
Last night's concert literally changed my musical life and really gave me an additional push in my writing and performing!!! Leiteres Leite [The founder, composer and conductor of Orkestra Rumpilezz] is a true musical genius and as I told him last night in person, he is the Beethoven of Brazil!
Thank you so much for providing that experience for the audience and the city of Philadelphia. PJP continues to propel a high bar each performance and each concert given to the public. I'm am truly humbled and blessed being a part of this journey.
All your hard work pays off in HUGE dividends and thank you again for being a vessel for amazing opportunities such as this!
Continued success and blessings along the way!!!
