The first concert of the ongoing collaboration between PJP and The Free Library of Philadelphia. This time, the featured artists explore elements from the Free Library's collections and create new works inspired by them. Drummer Dwight James, visits the library's, Music Department to explore drums from around the world and shares some John Coltrane and Khan Jamal music as well.
This concert is also a presentation of Celebrating Coltrane 2017 in collaboration with The Free Library of Philadelphia, WRTI, PhillyCAM, WPPM, Fairmount Park Conservancy, Philadelphia Parks & Recreation, South Jazz Cafe, Rittenhouse Soundworks and Jazz Near You. These events include concerts, discussions, screenings and broadcasts and will take place between September 18th to 24th, 2017.
