Satellites Are Spinning: A Sizzling, Sonic Celebration of Sun Ra: A concert series. Featuring 8 concerts from December 2017 to June 2018 at some of the region's most important venues including; The Barnes Foundation, Ardmore Music Hall, Johnny Brenda's, The Planetarium of The Franklin Institute and World Cafe Live. Hosted by WRTI radio deejay, J. Michael Harrison.

Our band for Satellites #4 at the Johnny Brenda's will center around The Willow Trio with music director, bassist, Bert Harris; trumpeter, Paul Giess; and drummer Kevin Diehl. They are joined by keyboardist and vocalist, Erica Corbo; DJ and sonic-sphere artist, June Lopez; tenor saxophonist and Sun Ra Arkestra standby, Terry Lawson; baritone saxophonist, Josh Lee; tenor and soprano saxophonist, Tim Price; guest vocalist, Parris Love’; poet and playwright, Julia Lopez; and rapper, Raphael Xavier.

The series will present a diverse, aggregation of regional Jazz, Rock, R&B, Experimental, Hiphop, EDM artists and poets. It will also feature special guest, performance artists, a percolating videoscape by video master: Gralin Hughes, as well as a broad range of musical selections from the catalogs of Sun Ra and former, Sun Ra Arkestra members, as well as otherworldly tunes by such diverse artists as Parliament/Funkadelic, Outkast, Benny Golson, Talking Heads, Earth, Wind & Fire, Albert King, Nona Hendryx, David Bowie, Return To Forever, John Coltrane & many more.
