Spreading the joy of the season, SEPTAAthenianRazak LLC and Phila Jazz Project present 4 FREE & Cool Holiday Concerts in Suburban Station on Fridays in December. Jazz vocalists, Ella Gahnt & Kevin Valentine brought the true spirit of Frosty with them in the form of 3 inches of snow!!! But they continued the concert series with a humorus and riveting evening of awesome music.

 

Ella Gahnt & Kevin Valentine are a team of Jazz singers who easily slide between old school classics and current jewels. Ella has wowed audiences at venues including the Kimmel Center, West Oak Lane Jazz Festival, Philadelphia Museum of Art, Painted Bride Art Center and the Clef Club. Kevin has performed at Zanzibar Blue, Pyramid Club, Rembrandt’s, Philadelphia Museum of Art, Ortlieb’s Jazzhaus, La Rose, Calabash and Chris’s Jazz Cafe.

Ella Gahnt & Kevin Valentine were accompanied by a trio of Philadelphia Jazz all stars featuring Aaron Graves - piano, Lee Smith - bass and Webb Thomas - drums. The session was recorded by Chip Powell and photographed by Tim Balckwell. Special thanks to Melissa Talley Palmer, John Abner, Ellen Snyder and Yvonne Jackson for assistance.

Paul JostPaul Jost is vocalist and musician who seeks to creatively capture the essence of the moment. Paul is an eclectic artist. A vocalist, drummer, arranger and composer who performs frequently in New York, Philadelphia and New Jersey along with recent tours in South Korea, Ireland and Germany. In New York, he can be seen on the last Wednesday of the month at 55 Bar and he performs frequently at SMOKE and other venues.
