Welcome to Philadelphia Jazz Project
Free Jazz Month Book Raffle
Mar 30, 2017
The Philadelphia Jazz Project and Books & Stuff are collaborating during April 2017, Jazz Appreciation Month to encourage reading. In particular, we encourage reading about some of the intriguing and colorful characters of Jazz music. We're talking about artists like Thelonious Monk, Jelly Roll Morton and Duke Ellington whose stories make for great reading and probably exciting films. We in Philadelphia should know that our city has been a special site for some amazing talents and peculiar personalities as well, folks like Dizzy Gillespie, Rufus Harley, Lee Morgan, Billie Holiday, Nina Simone, Sun Ra and more.
So, to spread the word, each Friday in April, we will raffle off Two Adult and Two Children's Jazz-related books. It's FREE and open to the public. Anyone 18 years of age, or older, living in the Delaware Valley can enter.
