The Philadelphia Jazz Project is proud to participate in the Temple University, Intellectual Heritage Department’s five-day, comprehensive exploration of the intersection of democracy, race, history, culture and scholarship.
Starting today, Monday, March 22 and running thru Friday, March 26, Core Futures 2021: Diverse Pasts, Inclusive Futures will feature a broad series of virtual-online activities designed to expand your horizons. On Wednesday, March 24th at 5pm, PJP will present a conversation about Philadelphia Jazz Stories: our new 45 minute video exploring PJP's book, Philadelphia Jazz Stories Illustrated: Volume One. The film will be available for viewing online at the Philadelphia Jazz Project - Youtube Channel starting Wednesday, March 24th as well.
The video features dialogue with musicians; Denise Montana, Odean Pope, Leon Jordan Sr., Barbara Montgomery, Victor North, Key of She Jazz, Olivia Hughart, Elijah Thomas, Erica Corbo, Josh Lee; historians, Diane D. Turner, Ph.D, Steve Rowland and George Starks Ph.D and visual artists; Denise Erickson, Joseph Hasenauer, Dylan Caleho, Akinseye Brown and Eric Battle.
