Welcome to Philadelphia Jazz Project
PJP On TV At PhillyCAM
Mar 29, 2022
In our culture, Spring symbolizes resurrection. The awakening from Winter's death into new birth, new spirit, new possibilities. We are truly in need of what Spring offers. The past two years have been a trying experience for all of us. The pandemic has halted and then, altered, our social lives in such devastating ways. The need and desire to be in each others company is fundamental to our physical and psychological health. With the arrival of Spring 2022, it appears as if we can move with careful, determination toward some kind of normalcy. As a result, during April 2022 - Jazz Appreciation Month, the Philadelphia Jazz Project in collaboration with our partners have some amazing events on the horizon that you should be aware of.
In addition to our live events this month, be sure to checkout the many televised offerings of our partner, PhillyCAM: Philadelphia's public access television network. Each week during the month of April 2022, PhillyCAM will present bright moments from past Philadelphia Jazz Project performances. Some highlights include, Lush Life: Philadelphia Celebrates Billy Strayhorn, Tenor Madness at the Clef Club, the Grover Washington Jr Tribute and more.
During Jazz Appreciation Month, you can view these PJP concerts on Sundays at 6pm, as well as view a marathon of performances from our Mysterious Traveler Concert Series from the Free Library of Philadelphia on Fridays from 2am - 6am.
