Welcome to Philadelphia Jazz Project

HotHouse At PAFA Mixtape

HotHouse CDHotHouse: PJP's musical laboratory for Jazz/New Music/Improvisors and Cutting Edge Artists - providing a public space for experimentation, rehearsals, concept and project development with an audience-response/dialogue component built in. HotHouse presented a series of five events at The Pennsylvania Academy of the Fine Arts, as part of PAFA After Dark during their Fall 2016 season. The series featured some of Philadelphia’s most creative Jazz/New Music/Improvising Artists. The HotHouse series goal was to shock, entertain, challenge and confront; Which it did indeed!

If you attended all, just one, or were unable to attend any of these great concerts, this FREE mixtape is a document of some of the magic that occurred on those special evenings. Five outstanding performances by five ensembles led by some remarkable musicians. All concerts were recorded utilizing the natural acoustic properties of various locations on the campus of The Pennsylvania Council of the Fine Arts. Enjoy and we hope to see you at events coming soon.
